Credit Bureau Reports

Thailand

In line with most developed countries around the globe, Thailand has an officially recognised body to maintain public debt records. The National Credit Bureau of Thailand or NCB as is most commonly known, collates all debts by receiving data from all registered Banks and Financial Institutions around the Kingdom. From Credit Card Balances, Credit Card Limits & Monthly Installment amounts to Car Finance, to Mortgages and even Company Debts, all records are held centrally to show and "rate" the credit score.

All personal public records can be obtained quite easily by going into one of the registered offices with your Passport and approximately THB 100. "NCB" will than print out the report whilst you wait and will usually take from 5-15 minutes.

Whether you require a simple personal report or a Thai company report would depend on the location of office you need to visit. From the last check (28th January 2015), a Thai Company report can ONLY be obtained from the Head Office branch in Bangkok and usually requires one to take along a full signed/stamped copy of the Company Registration documents along with Passport and perhaps other documents. It is usually recommended to call ahead and check before heading to the office. It may also be obtained through the post without physical presence in their head office and takes just a matter of days.

You may notice that NCB generally only has offices in Bangkok. If based in one of the provinces, usually a report can be obtained by stopping into a Thanachart Bank and asking for a report. Of course, a small admin fee will most likely be payable and the timescales maybe slightly different (up to 10 working days) although a report should still be able to be obtained.

In summary, providing debts are maintained well, most lenders would be happy to consider finance if their procedures permit.
